Matchday 5
Barcelona started fairly well but the wheels have been coming off, stumbling to a 1:1 draw to Granada at the Camp Nou signalled the media turning against Koeman. Woes continue for little Deportivo Alavés, a 5th defeat to Basque Country rivals Osasuna at home compounds their misery further. Getafe another struggler at the foot of the table also recording their 5th defeat of the season away to Vallecano.

Athletic Club held Atleti to a scoreless draw at the Wanda Metropolitano while Levante continue to search for their first win of the season after another draw. Real Sociedad continue their strong form since their opening day loss to Barcelona. Erreala have a long injury list and are supplementing their squad with players from their B, C and its youth set up.

Matchday 6
Poor Alavés remain winless following a 1:0 loss away to Espanyol, as do Getafe CF, losing 2:1 at home to Atleti. Newcomers Vallecano would be more than thrilled with coming away from San Mames with a 2:1 win over Bilbao. Levante’s woes continue losing 2:0 at home to Vigo, their form jittering between draws and losses. The big one midweek comes from Madrid as they dismantled Mallorca 6:1 at the Bernabeu. The fixtures for matchday 6 came to an end with a Sociedad away win in Granada, Betis winning away in Pamplona while Barcelona stuttered in Cadiz.

Matchday 7
Barcelona managed to slow the rot as Ansu Fati returned from injury, the new number 10 sparking some much needed life into the Blaugrana attack. The big shock of Matchday 7 is the shock win of Alavés over Atleti, picking up their first points of the season and lifting themselves off the foot of the table. The top spot is currently revolving around Atleti, city rivals Real and Sociedad.

Sociedad took advantage of both Madrid clubs dropping points by picking up a home win over Elche, Sociedad managing to retain form while still struggling with injuries to much of their first team squad. Real Vallecano are after registering three wins on the bounce, the newly promoted club should be more than happy with their good start to the season, especially with how poorly their last La Liga campaign was.
